I thought I would take a few minutes to run down my thoughts on some opportune games in the NFL this week as I see them. No promises, but I am interested in some of these enough to play them straight but I know lots of folks like to tease. If that is the case, I do not see how that could be a bad idea. On to the games...

  • Falcons vs Panthers - I like the Falcons here. I saw this team play last week and their defense was just awsome. Yes it was against the Dolphins, but the Dolphins do normally have a pretty stout running attack which the Falcons shut down. Matt Ryan was playing after dealing with a small bout of the flu leading up to last weeks games, not even practicing until late in the week. He missed a few passes that should not have been missed, and I think that normally he would make those.
  • Vikings vs Lions - I have to go with the Vikings on this. The Lions are catching 10 points at home, with some garnered excitement. With that said, it could be closer than expected, but it is hard to think that the Lions will score enough points.
  • Titans vs Texans - I love the Titans this year, just like I did last week. 6.5 points favorite at home, where it should be more like 9.5 or 10. Easy play here.
  • Raiders vs Cheifs - Raiders, Raiders, Raiders. These guys impressed me last Monday and I feel that the Cheifs are so bad that Raiders moderately good offense and moderately-good defense will be enough here. However, the game is at Arrowhead. I think the line is a little lower than it should be, and it is really barely enough to cover home field advantage. With that said, the Raiders should be able to take care of business in Missouri.
  • Saints vs Eagles - I would have to say that the Eagles have always been one of my least favorite teams. I do not like McNabb and despite Westbrook being pretty exciting (and a star on many of my fantasy teams) does not intice me as a fan. Now that Vick is there, I can safely say that I dislike them even more. I have always liked various players for the Saints, and with last weeks Offensive spectacular I have almost jumped on their bandwagon. The bottom line here is that McNabb is out, Westbrook is playing injured, and Brees and Company are only a 1 point favorite. Smells of danger if you ask me for the Eagles.
  • Broncos vs Browns - The Browns still have a long way to go, and even though players are trying to get out of Denver, I suspect a better effort this week. The Broncos are catching 3 points (a little low) at home against a pretty weak and confused team. Should be a safe bet.
  • Ravens vs Chargers - Who's wacko 'bout Flacco? I don't know that I am just yet, but I will tell who I am wacco about. Ray Rice. The guy is a stud. Not to mention the D the Ravens bring to the table. Given the performance (or lack there of) that the Chargers displayed last week with a healthy LT (who is probably not - and should not - be playing) I do not see this happening. Oh yea, I forgot to mention that Ravens are the UNDERDOG by 3 points.
  • Giants vs Cowboys - I think the Cowboys are heavily overrated and Wade Phillips is out after this years upcoming debacle. They somehow have so many fans confused that it has clouded the great Jerry Jones' judgement. Don't forget the power that the GMen bring to the table, plus the Cowboys should only be about a 3 point UNDERDOG instead of being favored by 3.
  • Hope something works for ya!
